The objective of this task was to produce a book with manually created artwork that was scanned and precisely positioned in Adobe InDesign. The book had to be printed in a double-sided manner, and accurately trimmed along the guide lines before being stapled together.
I am satisfied with the final result of the book. It was a laborious process, taking a considerable amount of time to draw and color. Rather than simply illustrating a pre-existing children's book, I opted to write my own, featuring a garden as the story's setting. The primary objective of this project was to teach how to properly placing hand-drawn artwork scans into an Indesign document, ensuring accurate margins, guidelines, and arrangement to achieve a printed book. This assignment, like others in the class, provided valuable insights into the importance of proper formatting and considerations that must be kept in mind as a designer to ensure needs of the printer are met.
