The objective of this project was to use gradient fills and strokes to create a custom Emoji. The task required the inclusion of 1 gradient fill with a minimum of 3 gradient stops, 1 gradient fill with color to transparent fill, 1 gradient with radial fill, 1 gradient with linear fill, and 2 strokes with 2 different gradients and the creation of two custom gradient swatches.
For this project, I created an emoji to convey the emotion of shocked sadness. To make it, I used the pen tool to create a heart and then broke it using the eraser tool. The mouth is a simple circle shape that I modified slightly at the bottom. I experimented with both radial and linear gradients to add depth and interest to the design, although I admit I struggled a bit with their placement. To get some inspiration, I looked at existing face emojis and tried to replicate their use of gradients. Overall, I'm satisfied with the final result, but I realize there's still room for improvement. This project was a great opportunity for me to practice using gradients and I definitely learned a lot from it.
